Tattoo/Logo

•May 2, 2008 • 1 Comment

a)   What does your logo/tattoo represent?

Ans: My tattoo represents the first letter of my name, and hotel is written under my logo which tells us that a hotel is named by the first letter of my name.

b) How did you design your logo/tattoo to represent this?

Ans: I designed my logo by typing out the first letter of my name.  After that I  copy pasted my name.  The font color of the original letter is black and the font colour of the copied letter is white.  I  overlapped both of them in such a way which makes it look as if it’s a design.  After that I used the arc tool and made an arc right under my logo.  Then I wrote “hotel” on that arc and changed the font size and the colour.  This is how I made my logo/tattoo.

1. What had inspired you to create your poster the way you did?

Ans: The people who have got bullied inspired me to create a bullying poster “calling names hurts people”.  I have seen many people crying just because other people call them names which they didn’t like.  The tears of those people made me make a poster like this so that all the bullies come to know that calling names is not nice and that it hurts the one you are calling names to.

2. Why did you choose the message you chose?

Ans: As I said before, the people who got bullied made me make a poster like this.  Calling names which a person doesn’t like is known as bullying.  I chose this particular message because I can express my feelings in this poster, as I have seen many of my friends crying on this matter.  I hope the bullies understand that the things they are doing is not good.  Calling names seems fun to the people who are doing so, but it’s not fun for those people who are being called names.

3. How is this message important?

Ans: This message is important as this way maybe someone who calls names to other people can understand that it hurts others.  This message can make the harassed people realize that there are still many people who care for them in this world.  I hope that those bullies understand the meaning of this poster and the message and they stop doing bad things with others.

4. How did you come up with your design?

Ans: I came up with my design by looking for a lonely child sitting all alone in a hallway.  The lonely child in a dark hallway shows that he doesn’t want to go out as he may get bullied by other people.  I used some special effects and came up with the design in have in my poster.

What happens when you paint part of the layer mask
…black? …white? …grey?

-         When I painted a part of layer mask black, it erases the first layer.

-         When I painted a part of layer mask white, it brings back the first layer.

-         When I painted a part of layer mask grey, then I came to know that it helps in see-through a certain image.

a) What were you trying to express and how did you achieve this?

Ans: The picture I used in my self potrait has so many different emotions in it. There is no specific emotion. In general I m just confused that what should I do to express a certain feeling in this potrait. So I guess at last I ended up with a “confusion” feeling. I achieved this feeling by adding few special brush strokes and by not adding many things in it. If you look at my potrait you’ll just feel that what exactly my emotion is and what am I trying to express. You’ll be just confused with it. I guess that’s what I want to show that I m simply confused.

 b) What filters did you use and where? What layer blending mode did you use and where?

Ans: I used “grain” filter for my background.  I used “glowing edges” filter for the word confusion and I used “chalk and charcoal ” filter for my image.

c) What special brush did you use and where? Ans: The special brush I used is near my potrait. It looks like the Canadian Maple leaf. I used that brush there to create a feeling of confusion, as no one will be able to guess that why I used that special brush and for what purpose.

2. Hello! I am so proud of my daughter she met the prince and was in the paper. I would like to frame this article about her but i’ve ripped it by accident. Could you please restore it for me so I could print it to frame?

ripped_paper1.jpg

How did i do it?

For the “cat eye” I copied the cat’s eye and then i flipped it horizontally and then i pasted it.  I used to the blur and the smudge tool to find the right color so that it matches the first eye.  I also used the transform tool to match the first eye.

For the “ripped paper” i first used the clone stand tool to do the yellow part of the ripped piece of paper.  Then for the girl i copied her right part of the face, flipped it horizontally and then pasted it on the other side.  Then i used the smudge and the blur tool to match that part of her face with the other part.  In the whole process i also used the rectangular marquee tool.

1) How did you enjoy the film? What stood out for you?

Ans) I enjoyed the film because this film showed me the reality of life. It’s true that this film was kind of sad but still I liked the way it showed me how some people live. The children in this film wanted to become something even though they were living in a bad society. I m really impressed by those children that after living in that bad community they are not influenced by those things. They were dreaming of something totally different from that. They main thing that stood out for me in this film was the way those small children fulfilled their dream by taking photographs. Those children dreamt of becoming something else even though their parents were not at all supporting them. It showed me that people in this world have bigger problems than I do. I loved the way those photographs changed those children’s lives and I love this film.

2) Did you learn anything new about photography, life, people? What?

Ans) Yes, I learned something new about photography, life and people. I learned that photographs won’t come nice if the camera is expensive or if the person is good at them. However they will be nice if a person has their feelings in it. I think pictures are another form of a person’s feelings and his aspect towards the life. So, a picture will definitely turn out to be nice if that picture shows the feelings in it.

3) How do you think the world needs to change? How important is this?

Ans) I think the world definitely needs to change. People need to change their behaviour towards other people, especially towards women and children. People in this world needs to understand that other’s have feelings that they should respect them and their feelings. This change of world is important because then the atmosphere and the community will definitely be different from what we have today. Our world will be a better and a happy place to live.

4) What are you willing to do TODAY to be a part of that change?

Ans) I am willing to do everything that is possible and that I can do to change this world. I am willing to support charities and make other people to support charities too. It is because I believe a single person can bring a lot of change in other’s life just by doing something which won’t really matter to us, but it will matter to those people who need our help.

5) Do you know a good song/rap/poem with good lyrics about change in the world? Post a link or lyrics to share it with us.

Ans) This is the lyrics of the song “If everyone cared” by “Nickelback”. I love this song.

If everyone cared.

6) Pick a non-profit organization that is important to you. Why is this important to you? Do they have a website?

Ans) Any children’s non profit organization is important to me because I think that if I help any child with anything I may fulfill their dreams. It is important to me because I know children have dreams which they cannot fulfill them until and unless someone helps them. I understand how they feel and I’ll feel really good if I can support them to do so. Children’s charity has a website, that is: http://www.dreamsdocometrue.org/

7) What ideas do you have for media arts projects that we could do individually or as a class to help contribute to these organizations that are important to us?

Ans) I think our media arts class can make a poster or something to make people realize that there are people in this world who needs their help to fulfill their dreams. We can send the money we get by doing that to the charity.
